The N20 is our classic pioneering model. The N40 was created to break musical boundaries, allowing music lovers, musicians, and collectors to achieve the goal of “transcending scale limitations and experiencing the absolute musical freedom to play whatever you desire.”
2. Musical Expression:
N20: The 20-note scale does not include semitones (the black keys on a piano). Most pop songs can be condensed or transposed to be performed with these 20 notes.
N40: The 40-note scale expands the range and includes semitones (chromatic scale), offering significantly more performance possibilities. For those who enjoy grand arrangements or songs with prominent semitones (such as movie soundtracks, minor key songs, jazz, and classical music), the N40 is the ideal choice to match your musical preferences!
3. Comb and Tone Differences:
N20 Series: Features one 20-note comb, producing a crisp, bright sound.
N40 Standard: Uses two combs (40 notes total). The sound is the same as the N20—crisp and bright.
N40 Sublime (SLM): Features four combs working in harmony. Each note strikes two teeth tuned 14 cents apart (80 teeth in total), creating a dense, rich resonance that replicates the luxurious sound of antique music boxes.
