The Steps to Complete Your Customized Melody Composing

1. Select the number of songs you wish to order on this product page, add them to your cart, and complete the payment.

2. Once we receive your order, we will contact you via email to fill out the song form. You can also click the button below to submit your song information directly.

3. After receiving the song form, we will forward it to the arranger to schedule the arrangement.
The arranger will aim to preserve the melody and rhythm of the song, while adapting it to fit within the music box’s range by transposing and rearranging the accompaniment, ensuring the essence of the song is captured within the music box’s capabilities.

4. Once the arranger completes the arrangement, we will email you a preview audio file for your approval and offer two opportunities for minor adjustments. Any modifications beyond two revisions or significant changes will be discussed with you, and an additional modification fee will be quoted based on the situation.

5. After your approval, our customer service team will upload the song to the music box that has not yet been shipped. The arranger will listen to the song to confirm its accuracy. When you receive the music box, simply plug it in and press the knob to start playing your chosen song!

We will also provide you with the MIDI file of the song, so you can modify the arrangement or use the audio on other devices in the future.

Sometimes, I receive melody requests that are not suitable for Muro Box, but once I realize the touching stories behind them, I feel that I had to do something to make Muro Box play such meaningful melodies.

For example, an American professor with late-stage cancer has designated the song “Every breath you take” to remember the love and romance he had with his wife in the younger years. He also would like to use this song to celebrate his wife’s upcoming birthday.

This song was not easy to compose, as I hummed it over and over, using key-shifting and all the arranging techniques that I know to find the best way to present this melody on the Muro Box. I was sleepless that night because I kept thinking about how to make sure this melody can be represented well like the original song.

About the range and speed limitations of music box arrangements

(3)Playing Speed Limitations: Under a BPM of 120, the minimum unit for continuous single notes is an eighth note (four notes per second).

About song length and pricing

We base the pricing on a song length of 2 minutes as the standard. If the song is shorter than 2 minutes, we will charge for 2 minutes of arrangement due to personnel costs.

You can specify the 2-minute section you’d like in the arrangement form or leave it to our arranger to suggest an appropriate segment. Typically, extracting 2 minutes from a song will cover the main verse and chorus.

If you would like to arrange a section longer than 2 minutes, please note it in the remarks section of the arrangement form, and we will have the arranger assess it and provide a quote.

How to evaluate if a song can be arranged for a music box version?

Please fill out the form, and once we receive it, we will forward it to the arranger for evaluation. We will contact you via email with the evaluation results.

How to review the completed arrangement?

Once the arranger completes the arrangement, we will email you a preview audio file for your approval and offer two opportunities for minor adjustments. The song will be uploaded to the music box and shipped only after approval.

Any modifications beyond two revisions or significant changes will be discussed with you, and an additional modification fee will be quoted based on the situation.

Dream realized: a marriage proposal in song

I count it a blessing to work with Ms. Liu Hung Yin to arrange two songs for my marriage proposal. I can vouch for everything Prof. Lee Smith said in his review ("outrageous fortune to work with Ms. Liu") – he was not exaggerating one whit about her ability. Like Prof. Lee Smith, I too thought that my requests were impossible. Like him, I was astonished with the results.

If you have a song in mind, I am pretty certain that Ms. Liu will be able to make it sound great on the Muro Box. And, it will sound better than you imagined. She's not exaggerating when she talks about customers letting her know how they were all in tears — she is really that good. She is not just an arranger – her real business is in making dreams come true.

My story: my fiancée and I love music and singing, and I decided to sing my sentiments to her in song instead of having a long wedding speech. I asked Ms. Liu to arrange the song (In A Crowd of Thousands) to accompany my singing. Her arrangement came out better than I had ever imagined. I then asked her to arrange a second song (一生守候), and her arrangement tugged at my heartstrings and giving me chills (the good kind) when I listened to it. I was deeply moved by it and can listen to it over and over.

Although the Muro Box does not support changing tempo mid-song, she was able to make the rhythm and timing close to the original song I supplied, which was critical to using it as accompaniment.

Technical bits: The N20 does not have flats and sharps in its note range. Half of my songs sounded great on it with just a simple transpose / key change (done easily with software), but my attempts at two songs did not sound good because of their use of flats and sharps.

Tips for others: importing a (transposed) MIDI is a good start and works for a number of songs. MBM (Music Box Maniacs) also has a lot of melodies that are good starting points (though often not the full song). But when that fails, or when you want something for a special occasion - know that Ms. Liu has your back.
