Muro Box as Wedding Gift from My Dad (US)

My dad purchased the Muro Box for me as a wedding present for my wedding in June 2019. Music has always been a great connection between us, as he taught me how to play piano. I associate music boxes with my dad because he loves finding interesting ones, but he was always trying to find one that you could play multiple songs on and used to spend hours making the hole punch programmable music boxes.

The Muro Box is perfect because you can play whatever song you like easily, with excellent sound! The Muro Box came ready to play “You’ll Be in My Heart” by Phil Collins, our special song since I was a little girl. He would always play Phil Collins’ CD in the car; my dad, sister, and I would sing along, driving with the windows down in the summertime. We had every word memorized!

Since the song has such a special meaning to us, I chose it as our Father-Daughter dance at my wedding. It’s a beautiful song that perfectly describes a father-daughter relationship. When I opened up the Muro Box from my dad before my wedding and it played “You’ll Be in My Heart,” I immediately started crying! It was such a beautiful, enchanting sound and brought back all of those childhood memories. I tear up just thinking about it. Now, I will always have the Muro Box as a sentimental reminder of my childhood memories with my dad and our special dance at my wedding.

When he explained to me how it worked and how I had the first app-controlled mechanical music box in my hands, I was absolutely blown away! I was so excited by the engineering involved and to be able to play whatever song came to mind. You can easily use the app to update the songs and play whatever suits your mood.

Not only was the song selection incredibly special to us, but the Muro Box itself is gorgeous. You can tell it was expertly designed and it looks so modern. But it holds the vintage charm of what people love about music boxes – being able to see mechanics move as it plays your song. The Muro Box is now proudly displayed in my home and I smile whenever I see it and laugh whenever I let it play.

I highly recommend the Muro Box – it’s a lovely invention! Plus, the Muro Box team is wonderful. Shiao-Chen Tsai communicated very promptly and effectively with my dad, who requested this gift for my wedding. They even shipped their first prototype to us early, because my wedding date was before their official launch! We are so excited that they are bringing the Muro Box to the rest of the world.
