My name is Eugene Kazantsev and I am a professional music box composer. For the last 4 years, I have created more than 1000 custom music box melodies for different types of music box mechanisms. When I was around 10 years old I came across a music box that worked with paper strips, and also fell in love with its sound, as it was much richer than the usual small music boxes. I promptly asked for one for my birthday, and got it.

I’m a member of the Dutch Pianola Association ( https://www.pianolavereniging.nl/ ). There was an article of the Muro Box, and I decided almost directly to order this during its Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign in 2020, because I love people who makes the World better with positive things (technic) and energy. “Te Deum’ of Charpentier” is the special melody I liked (and still like) in my youth, so I wished to play it on the Muro Box.
As a little child, I had a “programmable” xylophone which was driven by a big cylinder with slidable pins. Unfortunately, I was very careless at that time and so the poor thing broke shortly after I got it. But, the concept of (programmable) music boxes was born in my mind and I always had fascination for the mechanism inside a toy music box.

Hey guys, my name is Yen-Ting Chen. I’ve arranged music box melodies and shared them publicly in the Muro Box app for 1.5 years. I enjoy publishing my music box melodies for more users to enjoy as well as writing about my creating process to share with other users in the Muro Box Facebook user group.
Arranging music to play on the Muro Box has become a decent way to “properly use” my trivial times. It has become a birthday song special for my family, and kids look forward to my next work. I sometimes take orders from them (challenge accepted!) and most of the time they are satisfied. As to my wife, a piano major, that’s…. not so easily persuaded, but she indeed gave me lots of technical support and has been a reliable consultant. Lucky me!
In our school’s science camps for Grade 3rd to 5th students, we prepared the experiments to lead students to explore why and how. After the students gained preliminary knowledge about sound, we introduced the operation and observation of music boxes. Starting from the wind-up music box to the paper strip music box and then to the smart music box, I hope that besides experiencing the operational principles of music boxes with different attributes, the children can also appreciate the possible paths of innovation and invention using existing components.

I am Felipe Gutiérrez Álvarez, an elementary school music teacher at The American School Foundation in Mexico City. Tracey Bryan, the Elementary STEAM Coordinator invited me in to test the MuroBox she had requested after seeing it featured on an Indiegogo campaign. She knew that it would be a perfect addition to our resources because it blended mechanics with science and the art of making music. I was excited to see how it could enhance my music classes and immediately wanted to test it and determine how to combine our knowledge of mechanical tools and my music expertise to design the classes.

We are Proton d-oo-b and Kalyca, we started a very special music project called “Alchemelic”, and this word combined the meanings from “Alchemy” and “melic”.
Every melody in this project shows the European music style and the elements from the music theory in 1750-1850. We hope to convey the vision to connect people’s hearts with music in those videos.
We aimed to take our music to the streets and wanted to explore the potential for real-life performance. Our initial plan was to play music using loudspeakers, but we soon discovered that it was not allowed. To overcome this challenge, we considered using a music box with punch cards.
During our search for a suitable music box, we came across the Muro box on Amazon and believed it was the ideal solution for showcasing our work on the streets of Zurich.

In the mid-October, my cohort told me that our advisor, Wendi, would attend the alumni gathering of University of Rochester (UofR). Although I have left the US for years, most of my lab mates are still in the Bay Area.
I wished that I could be there with them when reading their group discussion about how to drive there, and everyone was looking forward to this gathering.
Then, I came up with an alternative way to join their gathering. I made a proposal that we send a Muro Box to our advisor. I engraved our university’s logo and our lab’s abbreviation “WCNG” (Wireless Communication and Networking Group) on the metal plate of the Muro Box.
My cohort agreed unanimously on the proposed idea.
This is Josh Keeler from Page 2 Stage Music. I am one of the Muro Box Indiegogo campaign backers. I started writing charts for a music box that operated with a hand crank, paper strips and a troublesome hole punch! After that box broke, I eventually looked into finding a new music box on Music Box maniacs. That’s when I discovered the Muro Box Indiegogo campaign. Even though my old music box had more notes, I could see that the Muro Box was superior in many other ways: Speed, durability, range, song length and overall capabilities. The price needed a leap of faith that I don’t regret taking. I doubt future users will regret the purchase either. It was well worth the price and the wait!
After arranging several rock music box melodies for my own Muro Box, I discovered some tips to save time that I will be more than happy to share with other Muro Box users.
At the end of 2022, I encountered a girl whom I deeply loved. Over the next three and a half months, it was an unforgettable experience – we listened to Jay Chou’s songs together on a ferry, attended a concert by Eric Chou, and I even sang songs by Terence Lamfor her. These moments are my most cherished memories.
I intend to find a suitable way to preserve these memories with music and give them to this girl. In the end, choosing the Muro Box (smart music box) is because the melodic notes of the music box always help me slow down from the hustle and bustle of work. When I listen to Mariah Carey’s songs, I recall the wonderful times spent in high school, and Jay Chou’s songs remind me of the early years when I returned to work in Hong Kong.
It is graceful to witness the development of Muro Box, such a great integration of antique with technology. I am so happy to finally receive the final product few weeks ago. Muro Box is well made with great quality on all of the tiny details. I can tell how much efforts, cares and love had been devoted into this music box.

My wife, Lina, found the Muro Box after its Indiegogo campaign finished, but she wanted the Muro Box really badly. When it was available to purchase from the Muro Box website, she mentioned it to me, but I just brushed it aside pretending not to care.
The special melody I used the Muro Box to play for her birthday surprise is “You’re My Sunshine”. I choose this song because I sing it to my wife when things are particularly bad and it makes her feel better.

My husband collected 14 songs that are special to us, and burned them onto a CD as a gift for me when I was 18 years old. I would like to use the last song on the CD, Stars of Perseverance, to express my gratitude for being together all this time.
I have known my husband for 13 years, then we got married and had a baby together. I want to commemorate this love and cherishment along the way, so I found Muro Box to help arrange a song called “I Only Care About You”, and engraved my husband’s word of encouragement “You Make My Every Day Count!” on the music box. My name is G.J. Lee, and I am currently devoted to teaching, performing and promoting Ukulele. The first time I knew Muro Box and its R&D team from Tevofy Technology Ltd. was during the first crowdfunding campaign period in Taiwan in 2018. I waited until 2020 to finally receive the first generation of Muro Box N20.
During this long waiting period, I read their regular and detailed updates to report the actual production progress and experimental results. I found this company to be admirable. Music box is not a necessity in life, and nowadays many people are not familiar with it. Even though the product may not be profitable, they still did their best to strive for the better sound quality regardless of the high production cost.
Seeing the perseverance of their team in the pursuit of making music boxes into handicrafts, and combining the convenience of modern technology to make more people willing to understand music boxes again, I think this spirit is very admirable. Hence, as its first-time backer, I am willing to spend such a long time recording a second unboxing video, documenting the hard work and long time their team has spent on refining Muro Box. (The first unbox video was made in 2020 when I received it for the first time.)
Before I got married in December 2022, I ordered a Muro Box and added a special song “Have a Nice Day” sung by Waa Wei for my wife. This song was her music on hold melody. When I called my wife and heard this song as her setting for the music on hold, I started to sing along with it spontaneously.
Even now, whenever I call her, I still look forward to hearing this song. I will not only dance to the music, but also recall how I fell in love with her. I’m Hao-Chi Chiang (You can call me Leo). I’m really curious about music research, so I bought a Muro Box to study it for my master’s thesis. I’m going to present my findings in a conference in South Korea! Hello everyone, my name is Ming-Hsu Huang. I am currently a Resident in training. My hospital job seems to have nothing to do with music. I have to be on duty from time to time, and I have to work in the hospital all day. For me, music is a good way to adjust my mind after getting off work.
Working in a hospital requires precision, efficiency, prescribing the right medicine, and setting goals in everything. But music is for me, not a professional performer, and does not need to pursue the ultimate precision. With some emotional changes will even make a more beautiful piece of music. I don’t need to pursue the efficiency and goals for music arrangement, and I can simply create the music the way I want. There is no need to prescribe the right notation, because every note will not be commented as wrong, and each person’s careful arrangement can produce completely different styles of music. Therefore, the interest in music box arrangement and the profession of a doctor have enriched my life with different colors.
After receiving my Muro Box, I often listen to some classical songs. Among them, there is an old English song “Yesterday Once More” by the Carpenters that brought back memories of my student days.
