I am a Professional Music Producer
My name is Jay E, I’m a diamond/multi-platinum and award-winning music producer from Saint Louis, Missouri, U.S.A. I started off in music by D.J.ing house parties and school functions in 8th grade. As I got older, I started wanting to make music, like the songs I was playing when I was D.J.ing. So, I started making my own music which led me into meeting Nelly and the St. Lunatics.
We made many songs over the years which led us to making the 2000 diamond selling album Country Grammar. The album was released under Universal Records, and this was my big break because the album broke many records and really started my career as a successful music producer.

Why I Love Music Boxes
I have a few music boxes here in the studio that I would use to sample because I like the sound. I think everyone knows the sound of a music box, it’s a sound that everyone can relate to, but a traditional music box isn’t flexible. I couldn’t play the melodies I was hearing in my head with a traditional music box. Having a Muro Box is handy, and makes my job in the studio way easier, because I can play exactly what I am hearing.
How I Found the Muro Box
Muro Box came across my social media one day and someone was using the Muro Box with a midi keyboard, and I said to myself “I have to find out more about this instrument and get one into my studio”.
How I Enjoy the Muro Box
I enjoy having the Muro Box for a different sound in the studio. You can make a Muro Box sound absolutely beautiful and fun sounding, but yet you can also make the Muro Box sound sad and even scary with the right processing. So having the Muro Box covers a lot of ground in the studio.
I make music everyday: Hip Hop, RnB, Funk, Pop etc. I think the Muro Box can fit in all styles of music. I use Ableton as my DAW, and I have the Muro Box hooked up to my computer. I just selected the Muro Box as a midi output and then I just hit record. I leave a microphone on the Muro Box, so I can easily record the audio from the Muro Box.
I have yet to check out the app unfortunately, I have been having so much fun just using it as a midi device. I will definitely check out the app in days to come. I will also be interested in introducing my creation in the Muro Box App community.
