Music Box is also a teaching aid!
Teacher Wang uses the Muro Box in his STEAM course to let students learn more about sound from making various music players and instruments!
Let’s see how Teacher Wang designed his STEAM course with the use of Muro Box:

Interdisciplinary has become an important concept in education.
As a science teacher working in Nanxin Junior High School’s tech center, Teacher Wang discovered the Muro Box is his last jigsaw piece to perfectly fit into his STEAM course design because it blends the knowledge in technology and music well!
His students learn how to program their own melodies step by step, and experience the difference between analog music vs. digital music.
Some students asked him how to adjust the volume of a music box, and he will show them why the same music box will create different volume and sound effects when it is placed on different types of surface, such as wood table, glass surface, kraft paper, etc. His demonstration helped students understand how different media affect the sound wave’s transfer resulting in different sounding effects.
He also taught his students how to use the Muro Box App to create melodies and export the MIDI files for using them in other software.
Teacher Wang said, “I feel the Muro Box is our last jigsaw piece to end our STEAM course series, and I also think its founder’s valuable product development process could become a focal point to convey to my students: a prime example of task-oriented, and problem-solving learning skill.”
Note: STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. Hence, STEAM education crosses the borders of the above subjects and emphasizes on designing inspiring DIY activities to develop students’ problem solving abilities for finding new applications in real life situations.
