🎶 Can a music box paint a dream?
Meet Takeshi Yoda, a Theremin performer and composer based in Tokyo, Japan. By blending the Muro Box music box with the ethereal sounds of the Theremin, he creates soundscapes that feel like stepping into a dream.
Note: The Theremin is a magical electronic instrument that can be played without physical contact!
He shares:
“Muro Box has allowed me to realize a musical expression I’ve dreamed of for years. It’s not just a music box—it’s a dream machine I can control freely.”
Takeshi Yoda has been fascinated by music boxes since childhood. He bought his first punch-card music box at a museum and listened to it countless times. Today, he uses the Muro Box as the centerpiece of his compositions, combining it with the Theremin and synthesizers to create nostalgic yet emotionally rich works. His music continues to shine in art exhibitions, animation soundtracks, and beyond.
🎼 He especially enjoys arranging emotionally expressive melodies into music box versions. Pieces like “Corridors of Time” from Chrono Trigger and Debussy’s “Reverie” take on a unique charm in his performances.
