Hello everyone, I am Uncle One, the founder of Xixin Growth Education. We use performances to help young children express their emotions, and understand their inner world through role play games. This is the Facebook fan page I manage –Uncle One Cafe, and here is my company’s website.
NYU’s Institute for Drama Therapy has trained me not just as a clinician, but as a whole person. The faculty here supported me in finding my first sense of belonging. They are my role models, family, friends and colleagues. My mission is to create a drama therapy community in Taiwan to serve more people and promote drama therapy.
Why I Chose the Muro Box
Before I got married in December 2022, I ordered a music box and added a special song “Have a Nice Day” sung by Waa Wei for my wife.
My wife is an artist with a fairy spirit. Everyone will use the popular word “fairy” to call her when they see her in person. This is also one of the reasons why I fell in love with her at first sight. The things she uses are very good in texture but not from any big brands. Sometimes the famous brands will make the products look tacky. To choose a perfect gift for her, I will pay special attention to the texture, and especially look for something that can match with her artist taste.
At first, I saw this music box through a friend’s recommendation. I thought it was very suitable for her because it could be customized to play her favorite songs. After seeing the music box in person, I was more sure about my guess. The texture of the music box is very similar to other collections in our house. Now when she is away, I will play this song she likes, as if she stands by me, and when she comes back home, we will listen to its live performance and enjoy its beautiful melodies together.

When I called my wife and heard this song as her setting for the music on hold (for the caller to wait for her to pick up this call), I started to sing along with it spontaneously.
I am an entrepreneur, and my mood fluctuates a lot, especially when facing the challenges with high pressure in the initial stage of doing a startup company. Only when my wife stands by me can help me feel at ease. At that time, I often tossed and turned day and night, lying in bed thinking about my entrepreneurial projects, and often had nightmares. It seemed that I had to work even in my sleep time.
But when I met my wife, she looked at me tenderly, listened to me quietly, and supported me all the time. I felt that being understood was the happiest thing. When I was by her side, for some reason, she always helped me let go of all my troubles and complex thoughts. Beside her, I felt extremely safe and at ease. In this way, we started dating, and after the understanding stage, our hearts became closer and closer. We have been dating for two years. Then, we decided to get married.
Even now, whenever I call her, I still look forward to hearing this song. I will not only dance to the music, but also recall how I fell in love with her. When I was lost in the dark abyss, she tolerated me and accompanied me to walk through it. This song is just like her who always brings love, warmth and care to people. I also want to thank Muro Box for keeping this tender song by my side through one of my favorite music forms. It conveys my original intention to thank my dear wife beautifully, so we both love to hear its live performance around us.

I especially like the songs from the animations produced by Studio Ghibli because I am their fan. There are often many deep meanings in their animations. His theme songs are always played through music boxes. The deep meaning in the animation has a feeling of sadness, nostalgia, and especially the song “Castle in the Sky”, which I like the most. I also chose to play this song for my first audition on the stage in New York. It has conveyed very precious memories for me.
Epilogue: Music Boxes Add Joy to Our Lives
As an entrepreneur, I am often under a lot of pressure and my life pace is fast. For me, the music box will take me back to the past to find my original heart, and feel my former enthusiasm. It is a very stress-relieving way of life. Sometimes I will play old songs in the middle of the night, feel my younger self, and let myself get excited by playing the theme songs from Studio Ghibli. I will feel that I am in New York again to enjoy the atmosphere of freedom and immersion in art. When I play our love song “Have a Nice Day”, it will let me relive the enthusiasm of the dating stage with her.
The music box is like a key that will open the inner emotional connection. I don’t listen to it every day, but when I want to talk to myself and want to go back to the past, It is my most important key.
I like dramas very much, including movies, stories, scripts, performances, and stage plays. I like all kinds of dramas, so my playlist is full of movie theme songs.
Among some of the songs, the meaning of the lyrics and the MVs are very impressive to me. What’s more interesting is that you can even hear the theme song of Game of Thrones in it. It’s played on a music box. It feels very different. There are also a few classic Japanese songs, which also make me think of my previous life in Japan. Music box melodies really bring people back to some scenes in the past, recalling a certain emotion and the person in the past. The melody played by Muro Box evoked memories from the past like a time machine travels with the listener to the past.
