【Can a music box be a teaching aid?】
Let’s see how the science teacher Chen Jingyi incorporates the music box into the curriculum!
Teacher Chen carefully designed the curriculum, allowing students to experience the working principles of different types of music boxes, from paper tape music boxes to Muro Box (app-controlled music box). She encouraged the students to think about the various possibilities of innovating and inventing from existing components.
Teacher Chen believes that Muro Box combines traditional industrial aesthetics with modern information technology. She sees its development process as an excellent case for students to witness a product’s development.
She shares, “Students from the third to fifth grade all participated, and from the children’s facial expression, I am sure that my initial intuition was correct. The children are curious, engaged, with clear and keen senses, and boundless creativity!”
Teacher Chen also shared her lesson plans during the teacher workshop. Cross-disciplinary courses not only provide students with deeper learning but also require teachers to invest more effort in exploring new products, integrating knowledge, and embracing new ideas.
We are honored to be a part of this enlightening teaching experience, bringing a cross-disciplinary encounter of technology and art to teachers and students. Let’s take a look at Teacher Chen’s fascinating lesson sharing!
