Joeri from the Netherlands is a member of the Automatic Piano Association; he learned about the Muro Box through the association’s monthly newsletter. He decided to become one of the earliest backers of the N20 music box on Indiegogo and promptly completed his support when the N40 music box launched on Kickstarter.
His passion for automatic music began with a player piano that survived World War II and had bullets lodged in it. When the N40 music box played Scott Joplin’s classic piece, it transported him back to afternoons spent playing the player piano with a vacuum cleaner as a student, reminiscing about cherished moments with his older brother.
After receiving the N40, Joeri embarked on a journey to Belgium with the N40 Standard music box to share it with friends, who praised it by saying, “I thought it was a great experience, not only does it look beautiful to the eye, but I also thought the sound of your Box in particular was extremely musical, melodic, but also especially angelically beautiful. I am therefore open to hearing the sound of the Box with the double combs live”.
Owning both the N20 and N40, Joeri left a review on Kickstarter: “Almost every day I listen to my N40 Standard and enjoy it every time like it is for the first time.”
