Hello, my name is Andrew Chen. In April 2022, I retired from Formosa Taffeta Co., Ltd., which specialized in producing various fibers for international brands, such as Nike and Adidas as their main cloth supplier. In 2007, when the Formosa Group wanted to expand the application of carbon fiber globally, my previous company formed a new carbon fiber factory and assigned me to manage it, so my original administrative work started to include both production and sales to help this company open new markets. That’s how I started to invest my career in the field of carbon fibers.
Cross Fields to Find Music Boxes
Because of my sales duty, I attended many international exhibits for years. In 2018, when I attended JEC World in France, the largest composite materials industry trade show, I saw a French exhibitor present a music box made of carbon fibers. Since then, I started to research music boxes and gradually fell in love with it.
After I retired from the company and started my own company (WISN Industrial Co., Ltd.), I saw music boxes again in my recent business meetings with some customers in their offices. Hence, my 2018 music box memory in France came back to me.
The Most Innovative Music Box is in Taiwan!
After going back to my office,I searched online stores in Taiwan (Shopee and Ruten,etc.) to find music boxes. After seeing the Muro Box on the Shopee platform, I started to do more research on it. Next, based on my love for music boxes and my interest in the creative function of Muro Box (unlimited number of music tracks, I can even create my own music and play it directly).
Therefore, I also watched related introduction videos on YouTube to understand the Muro Box music box step by step, including the appearance, operation, and the differences between the first and second generation of Muro Box.(The first generation has a more noticeable noise from its mechanical movement.)
Out of my curiosity about the product and my love for music boxes, I ordered one Muro Box to experience it in person.
After Receiving My Muro Box
The appearance is indeed more exquisite than I expected. After the actual playback, I was really amazed. I put it on the desk when listening to it, and there was a resonance effect, but the sound of the mechanical rotation was relatively transmitted. Currently, I put a piece of suede cloth under the music box to reduce the sound of mechanical movement. (I personally feel that the sound of music is softer in this way). In addition, the customized laser engraving and music arrangement also add the unique meaning of the personalized music box.
The Classic Songs Recalled My Memories
After receiving my Muro Box during the first few days, I often listened to an old English song “Yesterday Once More”. This piece of music brought back my student life memories.
I was born in Douliu. After graduating from Douliu’s elementary school, I moved to Taichung to study in Wufeng Junior High School in 1988. At that time, I left my hometown to live with my relatives. I often felt very lonely; I would listen to the radio in my spare time. One day, the radio played the song “Yesterday Once More” by The Carpenters . Although I couldn’t understand its English lyrics at that time, its melody was deeply imprinted on my mind.
Both old Chinese songs and old English songs are included in my Muro Box app playlists. The following are my favorite Chinese old songs:
1. Tomorrow Will Better:
The song was released in 1985. At that time, this song could be heard in the streets and alleys. It was the first time I saw so many singers singing this song together. It has been imprinted on my mind since I was 11 years old.
2. Grandma’s Penghu Bay:
Campus folk songs, the melody of the songs is brisk, easy to remember and catchy, I hope more musicians can post more campus folk songs from the 80s and 90s)
3. The Story of A Small Town:
It is one of the famous songs sung by Teresa Teng in 1979, and everyone is familiar with its melody since that time.
4. I Only Care about You:
It is another famous song by Teresa Teng in 1980; it was also familiar to everyone at that time.
5. The Last Night:
This is the most famous song by Tsai Chin in 1988. Nobody can resist her unique deep voice. When listening to her singing, you will feel like getting drunk in her elegant and sad voice.

The old English songs I saved in my playlist are as follows:
1. Yesterday Once More
2. Yesterday
These two songs were also often heard on the radio at that time, and they recalled my memory of the same period. Therefore, I included them in my playlist for the old English songs.
3. Donna Donna
The title of this song was written in Japanese characters in the Muro Box App, but I found this song by typing its English spelling: Donna Donna. The first time I heard this song was at a classmate’s home when I was a junior high school student. After reading the meaning of the lyrics online, you can understand why this song sounds so sad and helpless.
Test the App Functions
I saw other users making their own Muro Box music box melodies on YouTube. I am not very good at playing musical instruments, but I saw that there are online music arrangement classes provided by the Muro Box Team. I will let my children try to arrange their own songs in the future.
In addition, I have experimented with the regular playback function in the app. Now, the Muro Box is set to play the light music playlist I collected in the APP for about 10 minutes after arriving at my office in the morning. The light music playlist is mainly soft and comfortable music. I hope that I will be in a good mood to start a busy work day in the morning.
From Customer to Referrer
Over the years of accumulated business experience, I found many customers have music boxes in their offices. Combining my customer observations and my personal user experiences, I think this product that combines technology and tradition is worth promoting. Thus, I took the initiative to negotiate with the Muro Box company to let me become their brand’s affiliate to help them sell more units in the south of Taiwan by making my office in Yunlin become one of their test playing sites to welcome customers to reserve a time slot to test this magic music box in person.
