This is Belgium's 1975 contribution to the Eurovision Song Contest. It was sung by Flemish singer Ann Christy and although the song originally was completely in Dutch, at the life show, she sang the first verse and chorus in Dutch and then the rest of the song in English. The Dutch title translates to "Being happy", but since she sings "Dat heet dan gelukkig zijn" (which translates to "So that's what's called being happy"), in the English part of the song, she sings "So could this be happiness". This song triggers several memories in my mind; the first time I heard it was on one of my father's reel-to-reel tapes, but I really got to know it when Ann Christy died in 1984 since they played it alot on the radio bac then. In 1993, I was the synthesizer player when we played it as part of a musical event in our school and in 2005, it was one of the first songs I tried to play when I got to know my first guitar chords. And today, it came into my mind as we have a thin layer of snow here which always gives me some little childish kind of happiness. So maybe this just could be happiness, right?
